During the recent spell of winter weather, forum members have received a number of complaints regarding the condition of roads and footpaths. As a group we will be discussing this issue at our next meeting, we have faced this issue in the past and considered the placement of grit bins within the forum area. There are a number of issues to be dealt with before any bins can be placed these include, cost - each bin costs £1,500, position - this is the bigger issue as the bins need to be sited in a position where they are accessible for users and for the Council to be able to refill them, we also have to ensure that they are not intrusive to anyone and in an area where they can be seen not only for use but to prevent any vandalism. The forum members will work closely with the roads department on this issue to ensure that any bins that we may get are placed where they will be most effective.

Forum members are hoping to arrange for a representative from the Flood Alleviation Scheme to come and talk to us about progress on the scheme and about work in Rothes in particular. The members representing Rothes feel that they would like further information regarding the work in their town, it is hoped that a meeting regarding this can be organised and will take place in Rothes.

In line with other Tenant Forums and the Tenants Core Group, members of the forum have been going over the constitution with a view to updating it a presentation will be made to the full committee in due course to explain and discuss the findings.

The Forum will soon have to prepare a 'wish-list' for their environmental budget, we would welcome any reasonable suggestions from Moray Council  tenants living in the forum area.
