During June some of the roads on the Estate are to be resurfaced with loose chippings, drivers are asked to drive slowly whilst the new surfaces are bedding in and the council will remove any excess material with their road sweeping vehicle. The painters have completed their work on the Estate, however it has been noted that the roofline fascias have not been repainted. The forum members will bring this to the attention of the Area Housing Officer to ascertain as to why these were missed out. The Forum members have agreed to support the zero tolerance approach towards abuse of council staff. Members were appalled to hear of some of the abuse which council staff are subjected to in the act of doing their jobs; this includes both office and DLO staff. The forum is still involved with pupils and staff from Elgin High School in the effort to reduce litter on and around the Estate. Following a recent meeting it was agreed that members of the Pupil Council would write to some of the businesses along Edgar Road and ask them to consider sponsoring litter bins on Edgar road, which is a popular route for pupils at lunchtimes. It was also agreed to conduct litter picks on the Estate once the new school terms starts in August. These would take place early afternoon and cover routes to and from the school, and would take no more than an hour. It is hoped that residents on the Estate will also get involved in this. As Flood alleviation works continue in Rothes the members there ask that people be patient and follow any local diversions which are in place whilst the work is in progress. It is hoped that the Forum will hold a meeting in Rothes in the coming months, details of which will appear on this website once we can confirm a date, venue etc. |
